Speech for the Stars offers reading intervention and literacy support using the Orton-Gillingham program. Therapists are trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, which is specifically designed to support students who need additional support with reading and spelling. This program is also great for emerging readers. Orton-Gillingham is one of the leading approaches to building and acquiring literacy skills and instructs students using a structured, multi-sensory, sequential and systematic approach.
In addition to reading support, we also offer written language instruction for elementary-high school students. Our therapists are trained in multiple curriculums including The Hochman method (TWR™) . We can support client's with developing skills to support them through the writing process. We modify lessons to meet a child at their present level and support our students by helping them develop executive function skills. Whether your child is working on developing ideas, pre-writing skills, getting "unstuck" while completing written work, sequencing information, expanding written vocabulary, essay writing, or even note taking, we are here to help them develop their skills.
